Detroit is a gutsy choice, I know. That's the type of thing you can throw out in a thread that doesn't matter. For what it's worth, I think Detroit's goaltending will catch up with them, and love what Steve Mason has done this year. Columbus won't go far, but they could catch Detroit in a series if Detroit's goaltending faulters.

I'm betting on Dan Bylsma being the story of the year and Michel Therien being the scapegoat. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

That is a gutsy choice. I personally feel Detroit has too much offensive depth for Columbus to handle and, while I'm sure they'll have at least 1 goaltending breakdown in the series, I don't think they'll lose to Columbus.
I don't see Detroit going to the finals this year because of aforementioned weak goaltending ... Unless Osgood actually shows up to play consistently over the next 7 weeks, which he hasn't done this season.

San Jose

I was born and raised in San Jose, as much as I love em, if they play how they have been the last 10ish games they wont make it far //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Hmmm, must be a West coast team that has the speed and endurance to keep up with East coast play. I like Chicago's chances, actually.

Also the Cup has always been about hot goaltending...a mediocre team with a few snipers and a hot goalie that jumps out fast and can build some confidence can do well. Of course a team of veterans can also keep pace with that.

Don't care much for predictions, just like hockey all together. Only sport worth my time.

When you're relying on Kovalev and Carey Price to carry you through the playoffs (especially after the way this season has gone), you should expect some trouble, my friend. If the Habs can win, though, that would be a great story.

Well if Kovy carry on what he did in the last few weeks, that could indeed help a lot.

Carey will sober up someday //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

not a lot of hockey fan over here eh?

the way the st. Louis are playing right now i have them going to at least the finals of the conference.

there's no substitute for momentum //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Not one team in the NHL can match Detroit's talent or experience. They are the most talented top to bottom team and by far the most experienced playoff team. The goaltending will get better for the playoffs and as the Wings showed in 2002 when they didn't win a single game in April and went on to win the cup that they can overcome their problems and they will win their 5th cup in 12 years.

15 hours to puck drop ...

My friends and I drafted our players and teams for our playoff pools. I somehow ended up with Boston and San Jose (We each picked 2 teams and I chose 3rd and 3rd to last).

I like my odds //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
