Oem-2 Universal Factory Sound System Interface better then a plain oll LOC??

First of all i drive an Acura 3.5 RL and i want to put in an aftermarket HU, but no kits were even made for this car, so it would need to be done as a custom job, which equals big money. So i contacted Crutchfield and they dont have a kit for my car either, so they suggested i use this Oem-2 instead of my LOC that im using now, and they said i will get a much better signal then bfr. Does this sound right, because to me it sounds like its just another LOC. Let me know if i should get this Oem 2, or if uve got other ideas, im open to them. thanks
