OEM 10 speaker system. Ditch or do?

Hi guys,

I just bought another car and want some good music. The car is a 1992 Toyota Celica that has a "System 10" speaker system. Front tweeters mounted on the inside of the side mirrors, mids in the lower portions of the front dash, woofers in the doors, rear tweeters in the upper rear corners, and rear fills in the lower rear corners.

Should I keep this 10 speaker setup and buy replacement/upgrade speakers for them? OR should I scrap some unnecessary junk like the rear tweeters and rear fill and just throw in some coaxials in the rear?

Also, I have a sub in a box in the hatch. Should I keep the sub in the box in the hatch OR should I just get woofers for the doors?

How would you redo/upgrade this system?

Thank you. All help is much appreciated as always.

Steven

If you are happy with the way it sounds, I would say keep it. its not broken so dont fix it.

If you are looking to do a project with this i would say ditch the setup and re-do it entirely.

Let me clarify. I know that I will redo the system. My question is....

Should I keep the 10 speaker system AND upgrade all speakers OR do a simple front stage component setup, rear coaxial fills, and sub in box in hatch?

I hope that makes sense.

Also, if your car came with woofers in the doors, would you upgrade the woofers in the doors OR would you scrap those and put a woofer or two in a box in the hatch?

Thanks.
