iPod quit on me after trying car audio/iPod integration kit.

I purchased a car integration kit from DICE Electronics to connect my iPod to my factory car stereo. It worked at first, then all the sudden my iPod junked on me. I tried holding down the menus, plugging it into my computer, hitting it hard against a solid object (believe it or not, this actually works for some people). Nothing, it seems to be a goner.

I cant play music without a MP3 player; it simply holds my large music collection. Maybe it was its time to go.

Any ideas what could have caused this? Did the DICE module zap the power supply? I'm afraid to purchase another iPod and install it again and have the same issue.

will it not even turn on? try holding down the center button and its either the menu button or the play button.

a combonation of the center and the play button, or the center and the menu button will reset your ipod and all its setting, but will keep all your songs on there.

No. Like I said, tried holding down the buttons, charging it, and even hitting it. Its gone for sure. I'm worried what may have caused it to stop working, because I will be purchasing another one.

Apple will not accept my warranty because of its condition. Its beat up, bullet indention, and a very small amount of sand inside. Of course, who knows, maybe this is why it stopped working...finally //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

try pushing the center button and the menu button back and forth for 1 minute

you tried hitting it against a hard object? dumbass...

to reset it, switch the key lock on, then back off. then hold down the center button and menu for about 10 seconds, until the screen comes back on.

I'm not a dumbass, this was a last resort (if you search, you will find this has worked for many people, not that I necessarily suggest it).

You are correct about the reset sequence. Again, nothing.

The battery or the main board I am guessing I dont know the model that you have but I repair them send some pics and what model it is and I will see whati I can dig up.

i had one of those interface's ...crash one of my ipods also...i just bought a new one and threw the old one in the garbage
