Odd BTL Wiring Problem.

Okay, now this is going to make me sound like a complete noob but I have 2 D1 BTL's and I went to wire them up to 2 ohms by wiring the pos to neg on each side like I'm supposed to but then when I go to play it it doesn't move and my voltage tanks like I'm running at .5. Then I wire the pos to pos, neg to neg and it plays fine. Shouldn't the way I do it drop the voltage to .5?

Oh, and for some reason my DMM reads .5 each way it's wired and I've tried two different ones.

op. you cant wire 2 d1 subs to 2 ohms.
Oh, sorry I didn't clarify. this is only 1 at a time, not both together. It's just they both do the same thing. With my old Hfi it would barely play, even at high volume, when wired + -, +- but then I put it to ++, -- and it played fine. Now with the M3a when I do the first way my voltage drops like crazy, and it plays fine the second way.
