Obsidian Audio question

I have to agree to disagree on this. I have ran Obsidian. For daily use I would NOT recommend any more than 600 watts. For burping yes you can get 1000-1500 watts clean to them. But for daily use anything over 600 watts will cause the voice coils to heat up rather quickly. So this all depends on your purpose of the subs. Daily use: 600 RMS Competition Use: 100-1500 clean

Depends on your listening habits. I was running mine off an aq2200 @ 1 ohm (1 12") and i never smelled coil. But then again I usually play a song full tilt for a minute or two then turn it down. If you're the kind of person who likes to listen to it full tilt all day, wait until Nick is done with the 3" coil proto's

Yes I plan on giving it a good work out every day //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

i had a 15" oa sub on a ap1500. and i smoked it. even at half gain it started to smell lasted a month before it was up in smoke. 800wrms daily TOPS i agree with big a
Over double rated power and you blew the sub. No surprise there. Gain knob position is not an accurate representation of power output.

If you stay at/near what the subwoofers are rated, and warrantied, for you will be fine.

The sub can handle over double rated power just fine. The ap amp makes dirty power. If it was clean the sub would still be alive.
