The reason he does that is to be careful to not try to pass another bill that will be found to be illegal (healthcare) or maybe it was the ruling in NO that he and his sheep stopped the offshore drilling. This is a direct statement from the ruling judge

Someone earlier in the thread said the president is a scapegoat, this is 100% correct. The president has enormous power, and is the single most powerful person in the govt, but he does not hold the power and responsibility many Americans think/assume. If the economy is good or bad, its his fault. If the country is at war, its his war.

Congress pays the bills, congress declares war. Yes the president can attack other nations under superficial loopholes. Yes the president suggests fiscal policies (introduces legislation). And yes the president has the veto power. But congress, as a whole, has MUCH more power and responsibility. One of the biggest roles of the president, a role that is not advertised, is to take heat off of congress and allow them to govern with less concern for day to day popular public opinion. This is good, and this is bad. Congress should not sway with the breeze, but they also shouldn't have a scapegoat. Its this scapegoat approach that allows congress to isolate themselves too much from responsibility for their mistakes, mismanaging, and to be frank, corruption.

People like things neat, tidy, and easy to understand. Its much easier to call it Clinton's economy, Bush's war, etc... than it is to look at the bigger picture of congress making many of the decisions a lot of Americans attribute to one man. Our own govt feeds off of this ignorance of how the political system operates by the average citizen. Im not claiming Im a political expert, but I know who writes the checks in Washington.

Well if you are really from the South then you should know that name calling and putting down people is not the way a southerner would act. Who are you to say anything about a person much less our former President. What the f uck have you ever done for this country? Bush might not have been the smartest he might have done a lot of things the wrong way but one thing he did do was give us the blood and vengeance we so desired after 911. Right or wrong he was a man of action. We demanded death and that is what he delivered. If you didn’t like the things he did then there is only one person to blame and that is you. You did not stop him so sit down and follow the other sheep.

I pray that I will NEVER have to take a life again but will in a heart beat to protect my family,me and my country.(and in this order)

Some would say that "running to the hills" can be a good thing vs just running straight into a fight that you are not prepaired for. "Running to the hills", regrouping, getting a plan togeather along with others in an organized plan of attack/defence will trump running in head first EVERY time!!
