Heres the link to the owners manual, under amplifier requirements its says what they recommend for power handling, havent had a chance to get mine hooked up yet. These are only $120 shipped from million buy on ebay. $100 shipped for the 5.25" comps. Probably gonna be picking a pair of the 5.25" comps up.
They are only rated at 60 watts a piece for the 6.5" and 50 watts for the 5.25". Anyone know if they will take at least double the power??
Thanks, sounds like they will handle the power fine.Heres the link to the owners manual, under amplifier requirements its says what they recommend for power handling, havent had a chance to get mine hooked up yet.http://www.directeddealers.com/manuals/og/precision_power/G39302.07_2007-09post.pdf
I think with 300 watts, the low sensitivity should not be too much of a problem. I will try to get a review up by saturday if I recieve the speakers by then.if i don't find any mids to replace the one in my ctx65cs set, i'll probably buy this. I just want a review, hook them up //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
sensivity is only 86db w/m.. pretty low. So inefficient set? maybe they aren't excactly what i'm looking for. i need something freaking loud than won't blow from around 300watt per side with some headroom
After installing them, i like the sound but have to say that I'm not very impressed with the output. My amp is rated at 100, but I'm really tempted to bridge it (400) and see how long they last. But honestly the problem probably isn't the speakers, its that I'm trying to balance a single set with an 18" omega.if i don't find any mids to replace the one in my ctx65cs set, i'll probably buy this. i'm looking forward for a comparaison between the twoGetting ready to run a set of these active. Hopefully I can get my lazy butt in gear this weekend and get them installed.
Using an Eclipse CD7000 in 3 way mode (low pass subwoofer, bandpass mids, high pass tweets) to a Boston Acoustics GT-40 amp (55w to each mid & tweet) and a GT-20 amp (250w to an eD SQ10.
They will be replacing a set of Image Dynamics Chameleons. I've been running ID CXS components for the last 10 years so this will be something new.
I will post my impressions once I get the install done.
I love the ID Chameleons and it will be tough to top them. We will see.
