Don't get me wrong, I am in NO way shape or form trying to say they're perfect. I just lost dental from my union. I'm wondering what is next. I personally hate the fat cat Business Agents that run the locals. They were once a worker just like me and now they think their shit doesn't stink anymore and aren't drumming up anymore work then they were before. They forget that its the union members that pay their salaries. They need alot of work but I will take what I have over working in a non union atmosphere (where I have NO workers rights) any day of the week.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gifThe idea of a union is a great idea, some of the peeps running the unionare dishonest and pick YOUR pockets as well as the employer to fund their own
perks..
Guess how these laws are around now?? Thats right the unions. The unions are responsible for most of the workers rights that we have today regardless if you work in a union shop or not. The unions fought for and brought us alot. Including:Im going to say that the majority of unions are corrupt.....I know a couple of guys who got screwed with them. I also many other horror stories (including my mother).
question: arent laws what keep work hours/ethics stable rather than unions?
another question: who here backs the NYC transit strike?
LOL yeah i saw that... good stuff.Did anyone watch Conan O'Brien the other night when he rented a van and picked up some peeps. That shit was funny as hell.
I used to live in Forrest Hills and Ozone Park when I was in Queens a while backI'm in Forest Hills/Rego Park.
If the contract duration is over, there is no breach of contract. It is against the law in most places for government workers to strike. The military cannot strike, teachers and police cannot strike, and neither can transit workers. They are doing this illegally. I am undecided whether this is fair or not.The TWU signed a contract which included a NO STRIKE CLAUSE and have not abided by it....I believe thats a breach of contract.
