Number of Subs?

Ok everyone I have some cheap crappy subs and a cheap crappy amp but it's just right for me so that's all that matters. I was wandering if one 10 inch sub bridged at 150 watts 4 ohms will be better than 2 subs not bridged on 50 watts each sub. they are sony xplod 10s and a dual xpe2700 400 watt amp. Which do you think will sound letter, be louder and be better for subs and amp?

i would rather sell ur system and listen to stock lmao
usofunny.. not everyone has hundreds to spend on a system. could u maybe answer the question instead of ratting on a system? and you wouldn't rather listen to stock, cuz quite frankly stock 1991 f150 speakers adn radio *****.

just playing bro..why dont you just bridgr them and give the 75 each

ok sorry i snapped lmao.. well i would do that but the amp isn't stable, its 4 ohms minimum bridged or 2 ohms normal, and the subs are 4 ohms each.

well i would like to be loud but i was also thinking, 50 watts to each sub just isn't pushing the subs to their potential, so i think 150 watts to one sub would be pushing it more decently. what do you think?

◦4 ohms: 50 watts x 2 chan.◦2 ohms: 75 watts x 2 chan.

◦Bridged, 4 ohms: 150 watts x 1 chan.

wire them at 2 ohms
ok how would i do that? both subs ran off of one channel? because if i run them at seperate channels won't it be a 4 ohm load on the amp?

it would be louder with both at 75rms

two subs would be slightly louder, the way it works is double surface area or double power gives you a 3db increase. So:

2x Sa + 1xwatts = 3

1x Sa + 1.5xwatts = 2.5

All things being equal, box sizes for the subs etc, using both subs on 50watts each should be near 1.5db louder (very rough, too many variables for this to be accurate but you get the idea).

ok im confused. let me break this down for clarification. its a two channel amp, each sub is 4 ohms. each sub right now is ran off its own channel. so how could i wire them down to 2 ohms without bridging them?

the only way to run them at 2 ohms would be by putting the subs in parallel, which means bridging the amp... or running them both off one channel but that'd be stupid. Read my previous response.
