Ok just bought a 96 GMC sierra 1500. Its wierd i get the signal clicking sound when im driving and my signal is not even on hehe. It seems to stop momentarily when i hit the break. Any idea of what could be causing this?? Has a 146 point inspection done before purchasing it so there is no serious electrical problems or anything, its just more annoying then anything. Thank god i get my cd-deck put in on thursday.

Anyways if you have any ideas please let me know.

yea, something similar happened to me. I drive a 93 cutlass cierra though. next time you are in your truck look at your odomoter and then down at the meter that tracks your mileage. What happened to mine was that they got stuck or something. The way i solved it was that i hit the reset button for the meter that tracks your mileage.

mine werent really "stuck" the 1/10th mile counter on my odometer would move around, but once it went to change from 9-0 it would click. This happened right after i installed a turn signal flasher.

It clicks exactly the same as the signal indicator sound. Same speed same sound. But if it is what you described as the problem how would i go about fixing it??

that sound u hear is a relay. the clicking sound is the magnet inside the relay cliccing on n off. since your relay seems to be on i think its obvious that the relay is shorted to ground.. or something is causing the relay's circuit to be complete. as long as its shorted to ground it will remain on. if u say that it stops when u press your brake then something having to do with the brake is stopping that short to ground. does it stop for as long as u hold down the brake?

yeh its wierd seems the break stops it and movements of the steering wheel will interupt it, but then shortly after it returns. Any idea on the steps i should take in aleviating this annoying problem??

A relay can also be loud without any electrical problems, not going to hurt anything exactly, it's just loud. Although it COULD be a problem so don't go completely by that advice.
