THE WHOLE THING!!!
First a little background info.
I've been charging my batteries consistently for a few weeks now getting them 100% charged up for finals. Usually I leave my DMM under the hood while it's charging so I can make sure i'm not cooking the batteries.
Well, last night we went out to dinner and I didn't want the batteries on the charger with nobody home just in case something bad happened.
Anyways, I unhook the charger but I leave the DMM under the hood because I plan on hooking the charger back up when I get home. Well, I forget about that (and the DMM) and wake up the next day. Since I didn't work today I decided to try out my buddies amp.
Well, I start driving and right when I'm almost out of my neighborhood I hear a god awful rattling noise. Thats when it clicks.
I left the d*mn DMM under the hood, sitting on the fan belt. Needless to say I shut off the engine and pop the hood. The DMM is gone and the leads are wrapped around the fan clutch. I look back and I see the DMM about 20 feet behind my truck.
On to the pics:
Surprisingly, the DMM still works fine (after I got some new leads). Though I did have to take a heat gun to the dial in order to free it since the friction from it laying on the belt melted the knob to the casing.
Doh.
