i was driving in my car when all of a sudden no volume....i was listening to a cd and i was like wtf...so i turn it to the radio and still the same no sound....well the cd player is playing the cd and everything but no sound...i had sound but now nothing lol....cd player is working but the sound is not there.....i hit the reset button a couple times not sure what it could be...help me lol

The internal amp in the cd player might have went out.

are you running off of HU power? if not, could be you're amp got too hot and went into protect, or remote wire disconnected. or any wire for that matter.

Take a speaker out, get a DMM set it to AC like you are gain setting, turn on your headunit, place your DMM on the speaker leads and see if you get a reading. Play a 100 hz. track just for testing purposes.

well...i thought it might be the fuse in the back of the hu...but its fine....so i disconnected one of the speakers at the harness....to check the output on the wires comming from the hu...i got nothing...i played a 100hz tone....and nothing.....it still gets warm in the back of the headunit so i have no idea.....i was also thinking that it might be teh oem amp....might have went bad....i am going to wait until i get my subs to see whats going on...because if it plays through my subs then its the amp...if it doesnt then its the headunit i think lol.

well i go outside today to double check the connections and all...but b4 i did that i unplugged the subwoofer rcas from the hu...and bam i have music...but when i plug them back in it cuts out....i have no sub or amp hooked up atm....but does anyone know what i can do so it wont do that...im not exactly sure why it is doing it either lol

are the rcas possibly shorting out? ends touching (very unlikely) or cut/frayed? check voltage at amp end of rcas
