not moving to x-max

I know this is car audio but I am curious why my 2 evo-r 12's in a home theatre setup are not moving anywhere near close to x-max. I am pushing them with a mackie 1400I amplifier which is 1260 watts bridged into a 4 ohm load which is what they are wired to. The box is 8 cf tuned to 25.18hz. They blend nicely with my towers but it just seems there is not enough power or something. Anyone know what might be up?

Thanks in advance.

Steve

Your running music through the subs, prolly between 40-3000hz or so, thats probably why. Caraudio we are running 40-200 or so.. Its prolly just the frequency range.

If they are blending nicely with your towers, why would you want them to excurde farther?

Excursion is variant upon power input and frequency, if you are not throwing enough signal down the pipeline to get them moving, then they likely are doing exactly what they are supposed to.

Throw some bass mechanik in if you want to watch them go all over town, but if you say they are blending nicely with what you have, I'd say you have it setup correctly for your listening tastes, and to not worry about how far they are moving.

the mackie 1400i has a subwoofer crossover built in 18db/oct. Crossover is set to 65hz, there is 1260 watts rms going threw the amp to the subs. The subs say they can handle 750 rms a piece, I don't believe that cause I bridged my amp for an 8ohm load and set one sub up with it giving 1k watts and it still didn't move to its full potential. Like I said earlier its in an 8 cf box which should increase the effiency of the woofers greatly. The reason why I ask is my towers can go a lot louder but once I get the subs to a point the amp starts clipping. Incredibly loud for the motion I am getting.

As for the name how about.
