you guys are such sallys. I have put down dogs before for the same reason, what if it was a child? Im sorry, but its just a dog. Seems to me like the guy tried, didnt work. He took an animal that was left to die and tried to help it, he did and bought all sorts of things for it to try and not let stuff like this happen. Grow up...

That's why I'm all for no-kill animal shelters.
100%...for healthy, sane animals.

If they are sick/suffering or just plain dangerous(to the point that training cannot fix) then I am fine with them being put down.

I mean, we "put down" dangerous humans all the time. Now I am not talking about wild animals but if they have been

"domesticated" but no amount of teaching/training(we teach and train humans as well) can correct a dangerous, domesticated animal.....well then what do you do?

Let them go in the wild where they will not have the proper skills to deal with that (where they will most likely die) or have them put down?

I'm not going to say that some animals need to be put down. Sick and injured animals, vicious dogs who have attacked people, etc. But the OP killed the dog for being a dog, which I can let go, but he a) didn't have to shoot it 27 times, and b) didn't need to post about it on a car audio forum. I have put down animals, but they have always been sick with no chance of survival and I have always taken them to the vets to be put down peacefully.

Op I agree with you. I mean maybe not the best way to handle the situation, but it could be a kid or something and at least you tried to help It first. What does the girl friend think about this situation.

Mike someone needs to put you down.

That same thing can be said for any animal. What if my paralyzed dauschund decided to bite someone. Should I go ahead and be proactive and put her down before she attacks someone? What about my Beagle, there's a chance that since she and my other dog killed a cat that wandered into my backyard that they could attack someone.

The fact of the matter is that the dog killed smaller animals because that is what they do. Unless it shows signs of aggressiveness towards people there is no reason to think it would have killed or attacked a person.

Very true and agree 100%.

Let me ask you this...

If you are dying, would you rather be "put down peacefully"....knowing that your are going do die in 20 mins or one, quick, painless to you and INSTANT death with one to the head?

For me, I would not want to lay there for a few mins knowing I was going to fall asleep and die.....I would rather it just be over in a split second.

That is just me, and I am good with either way but who is to say which way is better for anyone or anything?

Seriously do you not understand that he tried to help it was a stray. It caused him lots of money. Would you rather of him kill it or just let it go try to fend for it self. I'm saying he should of done this situation better but you probably are a peda ***. **** I gotta put my dog to sleep with in the next week that I have had forever. It is 14 and the only animal I know talk to me when you do that around Xmas. Already had my uncles dog die on Christmas day. Imagine waking up to do Christmas 10 years old at grandmas and there is a dead dog sitting by the tree that blead out. So plz put a gun to your head and pull the trigger peda lovers.

wow this dudes is a piece of *****. I am glad you take pleasure in killing animals because probably most dudes would be you down and remind you everyday how sorry of a person you are. you should have turned the gun the other way and killed yourself.

OH STFU you bleeding heart liberals. It was his dog. He can do whatever he wants with it. A dog is a not a person. The Constitution doesn't guarantee it rights as soon as it is born. It is property. If it weren't he would not have to pay after the dog killed the neighbor's stuff. The dog would be personally responsible and jailed. Simple logic will tell you that this guy can do whatever he wants to his property.
(I'm not arguing that I agree with him. I never said that. I am just laughing at you idiots that think you can tell someone else what they should and shouldn't do with their own property.)
Actually there are several laws that are in place to protect animals of all kinds including pets. If some one pushed this far enough Crispin could be jailed for a lengthy amount of time and would more then likely be order to have anger management classes as well.

I'm not arguing for the sake of it, my brother is a very active animal right activist lawyer so I have to hear about these types of things all the time.

If your not aware, in many cases animal cruelty has a heavier punishment then harming another human.

I do not condone the actions crispin discusses nor would I have suggest such actions unless it was a life or death situation, which it was not.

I hope for your sake Crispin that no one on this forum actually goes through with contacting any decent type of authority about it. Regardless of your local authorities lack of interest this can go very bad for you.
