noone has spade connectors

I don't think I've even seen a spade that big before. If your amp uses a set screw just trim the wire back and put it in. If it's a older style screw with a plate, you'll have to trim it back until you can find fit a spade connector that fits you amp on the end of the wire. It wont' do anything to your current flow as a short section of wire can carry much more current than a longer one given the same size. Being that you'll be dealing with a 1inch thinner piece, the current capacity wont' be any lower through that part.
