Noob question: how do I build this simple set-up?

That's the kind of thing I'm looking for, though the reviews do point to dodgy BT behaviour for that model, but yeah, good recommend. How does JVC build up against the 'big' manufacturers?
IMO Pioneer is at the top. If you can find a Pioneer with similar specs that fits your budget, I would recommend it. I use Pioneer and would recommend.

Edit: I should add that I don't have a good recommendation for solid bluetooth connectivity. Most reviews I've read have at least some complaints about connectivity, and even my own Pioneer has issues with my Android phone (but my girl friend's iPhone works great). I think some of it might come down to the phone itself, but I'm not sure.

"By incorporating a highly efficient class-D amplifier into the receiver, the MEX-XB100BT is able to realize outstanding output power – 4 x 100W – from a compact body. "
Wow! Pretty cool!

John Kuthe...
it actually has its own bespoke 10 gauge power wire that youre supposed to run directly to the battery. I guess its not joking around in the slightest

Yep, that's why I said "Pretty cool!" I'm sure it's not the BEST Class D amps you could get, but rated at 100W RMS x 4 ain't shabby!

And that Sony sounds good too. I had that Sony in my old car before I traded it in and compared to an Alpine 164bt with a power pack It sounded just as good.
