bought sandisk clip sport mp3 player and downloaded music cd to desktop then to clip sport. works fine.

when connected to new pioneer head unit via usb get code 19 communication problem. what do i have to look at specifically, the type of files from the cd disk, or the the mp3 player itself?

of course it can't be that simple(sarcasm), i mean an mp3 player is an mp3 player, right?

thanks.

thanks for the reply. i looked at that and it seems they had issues with the usb cable/dongle, but mine charged and xfered cd's from my computer to the clip sport fine. i think the sandisk clip sport uses a different mp3 protocol than an IPOD? anyway i appreciate the help for a noob like me. the older i get the more frustrating this gets.

btw i have the pioneer fh-x731bt.

Are you connecting the Clip via USB to try to run it as mass storage using the internal memory? Do you use a micro sd card with it?

Mu headphone rig for the gym consists of a Rockbox'ed Clip Zip connected to a Fiio E11 amp, I just take the micro sd out of my clip and plug it into a usb micro sd card reader in my car. Never had an issue this way. It sounds like the Clip isn't mounting as storage via usb, unlike what you would expect when plugged into a computer.

Other option is to run it via aux, but then you're using the clip's DAC as it lacks a dedicated line out, which would be less than ideal.
