noob needs help with subs

Memphis 15-PR12D4

I had those. One blew up about 2 years ago and second one blew up today. I need to figure out what speakers i can turn my volume all the way up and they won't have any way to blow up. I'm not sure what amp I have. It's a Memphis amp, but I don't know how to figure out how many watts it is. Please help me figure this junk out.

I loved how these memphis speakers sounded (super clear an pick up really low and really high tone bass, they kicked hard too) and somehow they were louder than a lot of people's setups around here that cost 1k and up. I'd like to stick with memphis as i think i have ocd and like the amp and speakers to be the same brand, but if you have a better suggestion let me know.

Having a system that will not blow your speakers with the volume all the way up is not just about choosing the right drivers, its about understanding how to set up your components properly. The only realistic way to ensure you wont blow your next speakers is to have you stick around here for a while and educate yourself.

Allright well I found out I have a memphis PR 2.100 amp so any suggestion on what speakers i should get would be awesome

100W @ 4 ohms per channel

140W @ 2 ohms per channel

300W @ 4 ohms mono

90dB >60dB 20Hz-20kHz 40Hz-400Hz 45Hz 9dB

It is a very small power producing amplifier, you will get the most output from a ported enclosure. Look for a single 4 ohm sub that handles about 300 watts rms and port it. You have a few options that you can go with, mine is just a space and money saving route for you to do.

I'm going to go with two subs as I want to use the same box and i just think it looks cooler. but why did the speakers I had, two Memphis 15-PR12D4 250rms/500peak, blow? And what speakers would you suggest me to buy?
