noob looking for guidance

ok soo hey, i'm kind of new to the world of car audio. i mean i use to know alittle but i seem to have forgoten most of it. so i have a ford explorer and it really needs a new sound system. the stock "premium" sound system is basically a joke and needs to be taken care of. so i was thinking about getting 2 rl-p15's, a nine.1 amp, alpine deck and i don't know what i should do for the speakers and the amp for the speakers and i don't know what else i would need for the whole system. my budget is around $1500 for the whole system but i'm ok with putting alittle more down if it's needed. what would you guys suggest? haha pleasseee help me

1/0 wiring kit,nice around 100x4 mids and highs amp,and the speakers are a matter of preference.go down to a local best buy,circiut city,nice audio shop and listen to a variety of speakers.is what sounds good to you what matters.
