Noob, help :O, wiring subs question

I'm thinking about getting an Alpine type x 12" sub, which is a dual 4 ohm, if you wire it parrell it cuts it in half to 2 ohms right? I need to find a good amp to put out a good rms wattage at 2 ohms? I see a lot of amps doing 1000+ on 1 ohm.. What kind of sub would you need to wire it down to 1ohm? Ive seen a couple amps like the MBquart that does like 750 @ 2 ohms.

Get a Dual 2 ohm Type X if your onlt going to get one. You can wire that down to 1ohm or 4ohms.

x3. make sure if you get a amp with a higher watt then the sub to keep it(amp) down to avoid damage.

Most likely your going to want to upgrade later, so I'd stick with the dual 4 ohm. Wire it to 2 ohm, then get an amp that does 1000w at 1 ohm, most will then do 500w at 2 ohm. Then when your ready to upgrade, all you need to do is buy another sub and your set.
