Noob... first setup... help needed...

I just bought 2 12" kicker comp vr's in a box for $125 from a good friend, and I think their rated at 400 or 450 rms. First, I'm looking for a good amp to power these babies near their full potential, and second I'm wondering if these would power a mid-sized car nicely?

well they should definatly power a mid-sized car because my brother has 2 12" legacy subs(they ****)and they rattle his windows and all that so ur kickers should do a lot....prolly get a good power acoustik amp.

That'll be plenty of bass for a mid-size car. Now, I'm assuming those subs are 4 ohm DVC, so you'll want an amp that puts out max power at 1 ohm. There's tons of amps out there, I wouldn't recommend the KX600.1, you could try a Viper D600.1, or you could also buy a 2 channel amp like the Hifonics NX600 or something like that.

each sub is dual 4 ohms? So that means u can wire them both to 1 ohm or 4 ohms. So you need an amp that will put out 800 x 1 ohm or 800 x 4 ohms.

HiFonics Brutus BX1000D would be a cheap amp to do the trick.

Amp...i say Lanzar Vibe 250/251 great sub for the price and I know they'll push those subs. Great amp for the price IMO ($150ish)
