OR, dubstep's predecessor - Drum and Bass. I like DnB because it kind of feels like an electronic form of metal. Also, if one really wants to feel some low end, look for some of DJ Hype's mixed CDs.

I'm with you rap/hip hop blows bad, try some blues rock, The White Stripes, The Black Keys etc. yeah Dream Theater is great also. The Black Keys will really sound good with a highend system. Edit try Sisters Of Mercy. here are a few to check out!
