Noisy Sub

I am working on putting a sub in my ranger....but i am getting some crazy noises out of my sub, and im not exactly a professional or anything, but it was thumping when the volume was down and i took my ground off and grinded it all down to make sure it was bare metal and it seemed to fix the thumping i was getting...but im still getting a noise out of the sub.. it sounds like a ton of power is traveling through the sub, hard to describe the noise, but it really does it when i turn my truck on, and leave it running...and it does it when the truck isnt running too...ive checked the ground, everything is ok with the HU and ive already ran new remote wire and RCA's, i just cant figure it out...im pretty much a newb. Ive had a few systems but there has always been somone helping me out...

i have one Alpine type R 1222D sub and a (peice) american legacy LA 960 1200 watt amp im running it bridged.. i have messed with the setting quite a bit, but i cant figure it out...

so if anyone could help me out then that would be great!

also my sub came with a positive and negative set of jumper's...ive never messed with a sub that has these, and ive tried running them different...but i cant figure it out...but really any help would be great!

U said u fixed the ground problem, did u check the wiring? Make sure all your positives & neg. are all hooked up right! You would not believe how many folks make this mistake and it can cause some strange sounds out of your sub. After u have checked to make sure your sub is connected correctly follow along all your other wires & interconects(RCA's) to make sure everything else is hooked up correctly. If all your wiring is up to snuff then I would take the sub out of the truck and test it by itself cause u might just have a problem in the sub & need to get it fixed.
