noise through speakers

I've tried to find something similar to my problem, but was not successful. I have an infinity 4 channel amp powering 4 6x9's. When I plug 2 channels in (Pioneer) head unit there is no alt noise or hum. When I plug the other 2 in, all 4 of them make noise. I also used an old 2 channel amp I had and there was absolutely no noise when hooked up. I've tried everything. Moved power cable away from signal cables. Tried 4 different ground spots. Bought different rca's. Grounded head unit with amp. Please help!!!

Take head unit out and throw in garbage. Buy a new head unit that is not Pioneer and this will solve the problem. That or do a search for pioneer and alternator noise and do some reading to find and understand the solution.

I've got a similar situation and grounding the RCAs did NOT solve the problem. I've tried multiple things to fix it but to no avail.

try running all RCA's freely through the car. This will at least let you know it's not the rca's picking up interference.

me too. I'm getting kinda irritated because I've put in like 6 hours of trouble shooting just for the hiss.

oh i am too.. Hell It went away then came back so i think its my amp for the backs will throw a different on in later to test

Try moving your crossovers if they are passive....

i have hiss in my comps and i just cant figure it out as well.. thought maybe it was the headunit ground and tried grounding right to the battery but solved nothing. all other things i have tried havent worked either it pisses me off

I know its not the amp. I hooked 3 different 4 channel amps up without success. I hooked a 2 channel up and it worked fine. No matter which rcas I use if I only hook 2 two of them up the speakers won't whine. I am confused. Never had this problem before.

Also if I play my Ipod through my amp my speakers don't whine. I've also tried grounding my head unit rcas with no success.
