No Sound

Sorry for the little info on that guys, ill be more specific. Ok, i have a 93 ford mustang LX. it had a stock stereo in it and then i got a new stereo. i took the old stock stereo out, got an adapter for the hook ups, and connected the wires from the apapters to the new stereo wires. all the wires are hooked together. i stripped each wire tip and connected it with the appropriate new stereo wire. the stereo turns on but will not put out any sound. i question whate is going on. what is your diagnosis if you can get any. i can take the adapter off and hook back up the stock stereo and sound comes out but no sound comes out with the new stereo.

Your Mustang has a factory amp. It has to be turned on, or bypassed. If you used a harness with one long, flat plug and one small, square plug, then you're feeding the factory amp instead of the speakers with your head unit's output.

There are two options:

1. Make sure the blue/white wire in the long, gray plug is connected to the blue/white wire from your head unit.

2. Dig a little deeper into the head unit cavity. You should find a long, black plug that looks like the twin of the long, gray plug you're using now. If you get a standard Ford harness, you can use it to connect to the black plug and it will automatically bypass your factory amplifier. Then your speaker outputs will be connected directly to the speakers, instead of the factory amp input.

I have pulled out each speaker and made sure the wires were connected. I have quadrople checked my wiring and each time it has come out right. It sounds like Kaezoo is on to something. Ill check that out and get back to you guys. thanks a lot for the input and help. If you get anymore ideas let me no. i will try anything. Thanks
