First post, and I apologize if I'm posting in the wrong area. This is not an installation problem, but I'm just looking for some ideas of what the issue might be. I'm pretty clueless when it comes to car audio, so please bare with me.
I have a Pioneer Avic Z120BT and for the last month or so I lost sound to my sub. I don't have anything crazy. I just have 10in. Kenwood shallow mount that's in my rear panel on my Tahoe. I took it to the shop that I usually go to and they could not figure out why I was not getting any sound. If I turn the stereo up then the bass will kick in and play for a minute or so and then go out. I've plugged in another sub and it does the same thing (Sound goes in and out, and a lot of times there is no sound at all). The shop tested the amp and they said if they plug directly into the amp then it plays fine. They looked at the wiring and the wiring is fine as well. The guy at the shop was thinking that my headunit went bad. Can that be the case, or does anybody else have something else I should be looking at. I was thinking about going to another shop to see if they can find an issue, because I would hate to go out and spend more money on another head unit.
Suggestions?
Thanks!!
