No Power To Entire Audio System

I recently installled my friends entire audio system on his 2000 Civic EX. IT included a head unit (2) 12' an amp and speakers. I completed the installation in one day and everything worked fine. I even took the car to my bubby Randy who works for Rob's Audio Concepts to take a look at it and even got his approval. Yay me!! ANyway, the car sounds great and looks great untill he wants me to wire his P.A. system into his car. I have a P.A. also in my car. I have the 12volt connection wired into the same 12volt connection of my head unit. I did this for his car as well but when I connected all the wires with the butt connector and turned the car on, ther was no response from anything. Nothing audio worked. I noticed however that before I wired in the P.A. the 12volt connection for his head unit was a bit loose so I stripped the wire down from the head unit side of the wiring harness to make a better connection. After this event is when I got no response from the audio system. I swear on my life that everything is hooked up perfect!!!!! But mabbey I shouldn't swear on that because he's still driving around with no music. Can anyone help?!?!?!?!?! PLease help.....IT'S NOT MY CAR!!!!!!!!

You usually shouldn't power things to the power wire of your hu. Those wires are made to just power the hu, if you power other stuff off it it could rob your hu of power and make it not work, or blow a fuse or something. Try disconnecting the PA, and putting everything back how it was when it was working.

Sounds like you blew a fuse(s). And NO it wasn't hooked up right. You should definitely use a seperate wire and fuse for the PA system!!

If you are running something else off the power feed for your head unit then it is not wired right. It may work OK right now but it still isn't right.

Took you a month and a half to find a blown fuse?

If you did it right the first time the fuse would not have blown, It wouldnt have taken you days to find out it was the problem, a blown fuse is what most people check first!!!!!!

If you blew a fuse then i assume you realize that means something is wrong. Instead of making the HU actually power the PA system, have it just switch a relay on.

umm, why didnt you solder the connections? and why did you tap into the source power for the hu for a PA? and why did you even install a PA, assuming its what i think it is, you needing to do a political campaign while driving?
