no music

i just recently traded in my ford explorer for a 2004 saturn ion redline. Everything worked just fine in the explorer, but now that im trying to put my system into my saturn,nothing will work. i have hooked the wiring harness up and everything,but i am not getting music to come from my speakers. Another problem i am having, may or may not be related, is that when i have my power wire and ground for my amp hooked up, with the car not on at all, the sub will start hitting and the amp turns on and off, i have no idea whats going on... any ideas?

idea 1: Are there any component speakers? idea 2: Do you have the correct wiring harness? Are you sure that the sub remote wire has no heat while car is off and that it is not really the door chime wire or something of the sort that always has power to it? idea 3: is part of the power wire touching the remote wire slot on the amp causing it to be on and causing the amp to go into protect mode randomly? And thus causing the overcurrent of the smaller voltage remote slot to disperse the extra current as ions through the highly insulated air to the grounded portion causing grounded sounds through the sub? Idea 4: Did a huge cloud of smoke come out while you unhooked the system from the explorer? Idea 5: Did you hook up your amp remote wire to the antenna remote wire from you HU? Idea 6: Did you manage to find a good ground, and not plastic? Idea 7: Is there a signal going to your amplifier? aka rca cables? Idea 8: I'm going to go urinate now.
