no mem wire from the hu

since theres no mem (yellow)wire from the hu my settings arnt being kept, i got a red ignition wire and a continious power (yellow)....can i put those 2 together? they are both yellow...but labled alittle differntly

theres a yellow wire from the harness labled mem/battery : can i connect that continous power wire to it witch is also yellow....thats what i ment...

the yellow wire (continious power) is what keeps teh memory on the radio. thats why that wire needs 12+ constant.

elmwood park...theres a shop in town where i got the cd player from...id like to do it myself if possible cuz i enjoy this stuff and id like to learn more....+12? constant....so ur saying i can put the mem wire(from car harness) and continous(from radio) together...or no?

lets start over. how did you wire the radio. did you use a wiring harness that plugs in to your factory harness?

i got 2 wire harness'....1 that plugs into the stock stero harness....and the other that comes from the headunit....the 2 are spliced together...now u said the mem needs continous power....i have a yellow wire coming from the car labeled mem/batt....theres 1 yellow coming from the head unit...thats the continous power....they are not connected...but they should...right?

yes. the two yellows should be connected. as well as the reds.

sence you said they are connected.

looks to be as the yellow is not supplying a continous power. a dmm would help here...

ok basically. the yellow from the radio needs a continious 12 volt. once you have that , your radio will keep its mem.

well, it works. stupid mistake...stupid question...yellow goes to yellow...haha i never put in, or even looked at the back of a hu b4 ive done everything else...this was simple i was just alittle shakey to put the 2 wires that were labled differntly on the 2 harnesses even though they were the same thing
