No internal amp

just because a head unit has an amp inside it, doesnt mean you have to USE it. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I dont use mine.

Most headunits come with amps, only a few of the really expensive ones dont.

Clarion DRX9255 or the newer DRZ9255

Alpine 7998, 7995, and a few others.

Ugh, I'm drawing a blank. I know theres a couple more. Isn't the RF "Denford" unit a deadhead?

yeah rf has one..the only reason that the headunit do not have amps is keep the heat and the noise down in the cd player. And most of the time when they take away the amp they add stuff like bur brown D/A converts.

My last HU (Kenwood Excelon X879) had the option to turn off it's internal amp. I didn't notice a difference when it was in my truck, but that truck was loud and hid some of the subtle points of the music.
