Help setting up an Alpine CDA-9853

I just installed my Alpine CDA-9853 and KCA-420i today, I feel like such a beginner, can someone help me out with how to get the best sound out of this headunit?

I'm on stock system except the headunit, MINI Cooper S '03.

Any tips and tricks? Good articles to read?

I have a Alpine 9847 and my best advice especially in your situation is to read the manual that came with the unit. There is also online manuals available on Alpine's website(The same thing that would come with the unit). Since you have stock speakers your sound quality probably will not improve greatly. I recommend reading the manual all the way through until you learn which buttons can do what then just start trying out different things until it sounds good to you. Play around with the bass/treble settings and also try out the different eq bands. If you want some drastic improvemnt in SQ invest in some Component Speakers to put up front.
