no bass from subs

what could cause this? everything is hooked up fine was working fine for about a week, sub looks ok no burn marks on the spider. also the power is on on the amp. when i turn on the deck the bass plays for about 5sec. then it bumps and the bass goes off. does anybody know what could have caused this?

any info woould be greatly appreciated.

Perhaps your amp is going into protection mode due to too high a gain setting? Why not try putting it to a minimum then slowly start working from there?//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif At least that's how I sorted out my mistake...
