well unfortunately for my 2008 Accord EX there is no high output alternator made for it(( i'm totally bummed. My dream car stereo I wanted seems to be a no go. I wanted to do a JL 1000/1v2 and 2 Jl 300/2. I know that will pull alot of current and my stock alt I believe is 80 amps (anyone know for sure). I am thinking that setup will lack the neccessary amperage it needs?? right?? Even with Big 3 and bettery battery?

But in any case can anyone recommend equivalent amps that are more effecient but still rock????Possibly class D i would imagine. I hear JL amps are inneffecient. Please help and please recommend name brand stuff from crutchfield? I have a connection there. thanks so much!

idk why doesnt mechman make one for your car, i just got quote for one for my VW jetta

just an extra, big AGM type battery is more than enough for that power.

Do a small Power Master D1200 under the hood and a Power master D2400 in the back and you can do more than twice the amps you are planning.

Also, those AGM batteries will be easier to charge from your stock alternator so your system will run much better.

sh*t i ran a orion 2500d and a kicker sx 400.2 off a 80 amp alt in my mazda with the big 3 done 34/78 ngt batt under the hood and a ngt g31 in the back, wasnt the best voltaged but the lowest i dropped to was about 12.3

I was running my Hifonics XXV Maxximus 10,000 from my stock 100A alternator and 4 Kinetik HC2400s and voltage never dropped below 12v. I never had headlight dimming, and I tested over 11,000w RMS output of the amp.

Just take it to a local alt shop and get them to rebuild it with a bigger stator. I had the 60amp in my 75 rebuilt to a 200 amp (it was a large frame though). Not as nice as some of the custom alts around but it works.

Do you have a local electric shop that you can talk to about rewinding your factory alternator to put out more amps? If not, isolator and more batteries in the trunk!

With AGM batteries you wont need an isolator.
