Nissan Xterra: Two DD 9515's, Stetsom 4k2d final results!!

Just a heads up on the video... you said 8000wrms vs 4000wrms.
Its a single 15" wired at 4ohms stock electrical with single battery on the DD Z2lv, Mike hughes tested it at the comp on a clamp meter, 2600wrms, so it wasnt 4000vs 8000. It was 4000 vs 2600. I had roughly half the power and half the subs. Just wanted to clarify with you.
Well if we're being specific I was just saying it was 8000w amp vs a 4000w amp not knowing the specifics of your set up. You tested 2600w at the show and we clamped 2700w at the show like I had mentioned. Looks like we where both suffering from lack of electrical. So you two where heads up with power with in a couple hundred watts and the only difference being was we had two 15's and different car and box.

Point being is you two are very close with similar power and if you add another woofer competition will be tight. Your spl difference was 2db and that could be made up when you add another 15" or more power and different box.

You both have pretty impressive set ups for only having 2600w of power and for being tuned below 45hz. Our goal will be 152-152.5db with the alternator and extra battery with same box. It'll be a lot of fun next time.

the box looks small...specs?
and where did you get that aero?
It's called a bell mouth that is perfect aeroport. Box if I remember correct is 7.5-7.0cf before displacement. We went a little small for two reasons. With the aeroport it allows for a smaller box and for the music Jordan listens to we didn't want it tuned to low. We wanted the bass to be tight and punchy.

Not trying to start a fight or arguement with ya man, just letting ya know cause I heard on the video 8000w vs 4000w, the guys at the office were like how the hell did you lose lol.

Yeah Jordan should be great competition this season, cant wait to get my 2 15s in, they should be built in the next week or two, get the alt in this weekend and its on... like donkey kong. Will you guys be making the oshkosh 3x show by any chance?

Not at all and sorry if I came off that way. I was just giving our results to compare. Jordan and I aren't the type to talk trash. We just want to have fun friendly competition. We'll share all our info of our testing if people ask.

I looked for the oshkosh show on the calender but didn't see it. What day is it?

I'm the same way man, its all about fun competition, you guys seemed really cool too, nice to have some new members in our area. Just wanted to make sure you didn't take my comment the wrong way either.

BTW here's the link to Jeremy Weber's site who puts on all the shows if you go to schedule you can see every show this year Oshkosh is 8/16/09 and it is a confirmed 3x event.

Jordan, you better be ready for some competition once we both get all our stuff in, should be a fun competitive year. Specially the bassrace 149.9 class.

I am not sure if i will be at the show in Oshkosh or not. But, I think i am going to the show on July 25, 26 at Maxxsonics. http://audioforum.termpro.com/topic/4/20221.html

It will be fun if i decide to go and what not, but I am retired from db Drag and the competitive scene. Thats why Jeff and I are on here, to help people out and to have fun.

I wish you luck with your build, and hope you get loud. Post up pics and numbers.

You cant be retired there are guys two times your age still doing this stuff. Well hopefully you hit up a few more DBdrag shows in our area at least, it gives me something to aim for.

Thanks to everyone who things it looks good. It sounds amazing and i was wondering if anyone else has this problem.
When i have it turned up in the Xterra the windows roll themselves down even if the windows are locked. So i am thinking it may be internally from the vibrations. If anyone has had this problem, what did you do to fix it?

PS I can't believe how much power we are getting and i don't even have the alternator installed yet.
I have a similar problem with my Altima. The power door locks will start freaking out and lock/unlock repeatedly. Mine has to do with the Smart Entrance Control Unit which is a little brain box and I'm guessing shit on the board is getting vibrated to death. Now I can only lock the doors with the remote or door buttons and have to use the key to unlock them. A new one is like $400 and will probably mess up again, so I just live with it.

Must be a ***** to meter sealed up if your windows roll down by themselves //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

Maybe wire a toggle switch inline to kill power to the motors in the doors as a work around...

Yes stock alt. During the bass race run his voltage was in the low 10's. DC engineering 270 amp alt is coming next week along with another 2400. Alternator is probably good enough but he got a killer deal on used 2400 and figured it couldn't hurt to add another.
how much is that alt? i have the same engine

Thanks for the information.

Its not so bad to test, just after every burp we just make sure they didn't fall to much. Its very minimal, so i will just have to live with it.

If you burp 10x in a row then it will fall half inch to an inch.
