and mark is an extremely nice guy just as well as jacob, just go over to the SSA forums and look around in the Mach5 forum. He gave one guy a SPL15 out of his pocket because DHL screwed the box up and there was a crack in the basket.

Both are great choices, I have not tested a Nightshade yet to give an experienced opinion. I had excellent results testing the SPL-12. Customer service, it is flat out a win win.

I think both subs are more than capable of what the op is looking for.

Both companines offer outstanding customer service and both are really great guys to deal with. I think it boils down to how much power your working with.

M5 is efficient, I remember a member posting a vid of one of the 12s off 1900w, so it doesnt need the full thermal power handling. But the Nightshade doesnt require alot of power to get loud either.

Really cant go wrong with either, excellent choices there.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I must reiterate there is an SPL-15 up for grabs in the classifieds... Get it!

thanks for all of the help and opnions guys, i really do appreciate it. as of right now, im still at a loss of which to go with. originally, i was gonna go with the M5 hands down. however, i kinda wanted to keep with using relatively the same brand of equiptment in my truck (seeing as though im planning on using a 3000D and 100.4). now, seeing as a lot of people have used and liked the nightshades, i dont know which road to take.

as far as the offer in the classifieds goes, thats a sexxy sub man!! but, im not looking to buy for another 3 months or so, and rather just trying to figure out my equiptment before i break the bank.

i hate to do this (seeing as both companies/owners are appareantly great guys and offer excellent customer service) but does anyone have any drawbacks they could PM me about? maybe any downfalls or problems you have individually had with either company? again, if you could, please PM me as these guys have obviously made it their mission to provide an excellent product at an excellent price and i do not want to tarnish their reputation.

thanks again all!!!

Well, I won't PM it, I will state it here, lol. I have absolutely no problems with either company, owner or driver. The only thing I can say that is if you put more than 1500 watts top the Nightshade you may jump the coil out of the gap and need a recone.

thanks. so is that to say that 1500 is too much or you personally wouldnt push more than 1500 to it?

Hopefully Jake will get in here to answer this, I think they can safely take a more than 1500, I just know that on burps some people have jumped their coils out of the gap.

I suggest 1500-watts on them with the stock coil and suspension.

I've had very few damaged subs, but those that were resulted from substantially over rated power on music which lead to the coil leaving the gap and physically banging it up causing it to unwind. In testing, Chad Hicks burped 4500 watts for a fairly long burp @ tuning with no such issue - so it's not exactly easy to do //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
