Well, it finally happened folks. The Red Wings were shutout on Thursday night by St. Louis. This is the first time the Wings were shut out since Jan. 7, 2004. That was a span of 175 games without being blanked. St. Louis used 2 goaltenders because Holmstrom was checked into Legace which knocked him out of the game and his replacement was equally good. Bad thing about it for Red Wing fans isn't just the loss. It was squandering a GREAT performance by backup goaltender Joey MacDoald who stopped 29 of 30 shots. The Red Wings only had a total of 23 SOG as a whole team. The St. Louis goal actually bounced off 2 players and went into the net off of Chris Chelios.
Oh well, sometimes it comes down to one lucky bounce. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif
