I really don't care about what he did in Buffalo, or Buffalo. Not a fan of the team.

However, Hasek pisses me off. He basically gave up on his teammates because of a groin injury. He flops when the opposition comes remotely near his crease a la Brodeur, but 10 times worse.

explain giving up on his teammates. i haven't followed the red wings much this year so maybe i missed something here.

and yes hasek flops around the crease, but he blocks shots doesn't he?

hasek is know for his unorthodox style. you'd never show a video of hasek to a young goalie and tell them this is how you play the position, but he keeps pucks out of the net which is all that matters

it was proven when he was here he had vodka in his waterbottle. he didnt like ted nolan and admitted he didnt try in key situations.

if buffalo didn't have hasek they wouldn't have even made the playoffs. buffalo would not had even been in the finals without hasek.

teammates don't have to like each other. issah thomas and bill lambeer didn't like each other but they won 2 championships

also if hasek is drunk when he makes save, more power to him //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

He won the cup and left. They give Cujo a lot of money, and Hasek suddenly decides to come back. Then, like 15 games in, he decides his groin is shot and can't play anymore. Takes the rest of the season off. Then, comes back again.

It's a ruminated cycle with him.

And as far as flopping, yes, he plays an unorthodox style by todays butterfly goal standards, but that's fine. Brodeur plays an old school style as well. But when anyone from the opposition even farts in Hasek's vicinity, he flops to the ground and cries for a penalty. He did it last week, and it cost the Wings a goal.

so what if his groin was really injured?

lots of players have come out of retirement

hasek is one of the all time greats so i have no problem with him //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Oh and I've also heard of rumors back in 04 that when he was "injured", he didn't make much effort at all to rehab it, and he got a lot of scrutiny from his teammates.

I've heard this in general as well- he gets hurt, and puts in very little effort to rehab.

so why would holland bring him back? this is his 3rd go round with detroit so i'm sure he would be well aware of this.
