Newb Needs Help

I can't seem to find the model on google.com.

If the crossover has a separate woofer and tweeter output, then by all means, link the woofer to woofer, tweet to tweet. The input is where you amp's speaker output will go to.

I also have a feeling that maybe you got yourself a COAXIAL, and not a comp. If this is so, then the comp SHOULD rightfully have its own crossover. If not...

Well, be more specific please. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

No they are definitely comps. I have a seperate woofer, tweeter and a crossover.

The factory stereo already has a sepereate woofer and tweeter too though.

So would the factory amp already have a crossover?

Thanks.

You need to get a wiring diagram for your car's system and find out how the factory wired the speakers in. If there's separate wires from the deck to the woofers and tweeters, you can assume the crossover is built into the amp and it's PROBABLY safe to just wire the new speakers in without any additional crossover.

If the factory wiring puts the tweeter and woofer in parallel (one set of wires split to 2) then the factory crossover is probably built into the tweeter and you can't use the factory wiring.

The safest and best way is to use the factory woofer wires as the input (amp terminals) on the component's crossover, then run new wires from there to the woofers and tweets.

See if you can find wiring info for your stock system at http://www.installdr.com
