Hi everyone, I am sort of new to the whole car audio world. I had a full system set up on my old car years ago but have forgotten everything i once learned. This is why i seek help in designing a basic system.
The car is a honda civic hatchback. I would like it to sound like a good factory sound system such as the BOSE system from nissan or comparable. I would like sound quality and loudness without distorsion however, i do not want to run subs. I do however, would like to hear clear bass (without subs). What would i need to attain my goal.
I currently have 6.5" Boston Accoustics Components (150 watts RMS) for the front. I am in the market for a HU. What specs and requirements should i be looking for in a HU for my goal.
In addition, i am assuming i would need an amp for the components. What specs should i be looking for in an amp?
Lastly, i guess i would need decent 6X9's for the rear.
What i am confused with is were does the good clear sound quality come from? Is it the HU, amping components or other?
Most importantly, how do you wire a system for my needs? Should i buy a 4 channel amp and amplify both the front and rear speakers (even tho the rears would be much weaker than the fronts?) , amp just the fronts therefore buy a 2 channel amp? Do I then run the rear speakers through the HU only?
Heres the catch, everything has to be relatively inexpensive.
Gurus please help, i feel i am lost in the audio world and would greatly appreciate any and all help you guys can provide. Let me know any information i should know ie. HU specs, amp specs and wiring specs.
