it's actually that most highschoolers can't afford a good front stage, nor really have time to attempt to properly image it. i work, so i could afford one, but i don't have the time to PROPERLY install a true front stage.

I mean, I've replaced the stock ones with some ok spks and mounted em w/ clay and mdf, but thats about it.

It's not so much the equipment, but the installation/prep work that I don't see happening. You could make a pair of $150 CDT's sound killer if you put the time into setting them up correctly. The idea of a "balanced" system seems foreign to 80% of the 16 and 17 year olds out there. Not being able to localize your subbass? A kid at my school had two Kicker L7 15s or something like that and its really loud, but I could care less. Mine is loud enough is my friends want the brains to shake and then I can tune it down a little for when I just want to listen to music. People who dont have subs to listen to everyday just want to hear the Boom, but after awhile it kind of gets old and makes it hard to concentrate while driving. I love SQ

i dunno who wins. in one post you should tell us what kind of car you both drive, what kind of subs/boxes/amps and wire you are both running. should only take 15 mins to look at both and get all the information. then a more accurate "guess" could be made as to who is louder...

well i said we both have trunk cars, where seats dont fold down, and hes running the package from bestbuy but im gonna call 2m and see what box and amp it comes with.

This thread is funny. I am still in highschool and could careless about competition. Like that one other guy said before , the "BOOM" gets boring after awhile. It's all about the sq homeboy.
