New user, new system purchase, some questions

Hello everyone, new to the boards and just purchased a system and had some questions. I haven't been in the car audio scene in a long time and decided to purchase a few things. Here's what I have purchased.

I purchased a Kicker ZX2500.1 however the company I purchased from couldn't locate it and they are discontinued so they offered a newer model KX2400.1 for the same price, so I opted for that. I also went ahead and got 4 Comp Vr 15's (dual 4 ohm models to get to a 2 ohm load) I also got some 10 gauge speaker wire for the subs and a 0 gauge wiring kit for the amp. I spec'd out the box I'll be building and it's right at 12 cu. ft. Just your standard sealed box with a brace in the middle.

I know I'll need some attention in the power output of my truck (05 Explorer limited 4.6) which has a 130 amp alternator from the factory.

So my questions are;

1. What is the best course for supplying the amp with the power it needs? Do I buy a higher amp alternator? Add a battery to the back? Run a capacitor?

I was thinking of this alternator: Alternator | PowerBastards.com

Would this alternator cause any issues opposed to the stock one?

hook everything up see what your voltage drop is.
but to start get the biggest agm battery you can fit under the hood and do big 3.
but a HO alt is def what id go with after and agm upfront.
@mylows10 is a rep for Singer alternators pm him about one for your truck.

might not even need an alt.. I was running 3500wrms on a stock 120 alt with only one xs battery up front and one in the back and big 3 done. didn't drop below mid 13's while driving and never went below 12 at idle. With that alt you should be alright with two nice xs batteries and big 3 under the hood as long as you're not sitting there playing at idle for a real long time. but if you have money for an alt by all means get one!

I have always ran XS Power and never had any problems. Just recently got a new XS Power XP2000 Battery and I would definitely recommend them. I had any brand to choose from, being that I work at a shop, and the shop is a dealer for Stinger, Kinetik, Batcap, and XS Power. I chose XS Power over all the others for a reason. Also as far as your power issue you should add a large AGM battery upfront and a second large AGM in the back. Do the Big 3 upgrade and see how the voltage is. If you still are seeing big dips in your voltage then upgrade the alternator. The upgraded alternator is always recommended with large amounts of power but, either way you should still have a good battery up front and a second battery in the back near the amplifier with that amount of power.

Noob question but if I purchased one D3400 battery should I put it up front or in the back near the amp?
Front theyer great started batteries and then you could even get one for the rear which is what I had and like I said I ran 3.5k on those batts and a stock 120amp alt and never went below 12 volts.

160AH lithium that supports a 12K system is pretty lofty! I've seen dual 24's or quad 12's that will do this. Most of what 've run across is dual...
