New to this, need help

I'm going to be getting a sub soon (one 10" maybe 12"). I tried to read up on my options but it's not sinking in apparently. I need someone to dumb this down for me. 2ohm sub vs. 4ohm sub for a one sub setup? I'm most likely going with a Rockford Fosgate P3 shallow mount. How do i pick an amp? I want to constantly feed them the 300w rms they can take. I'm going nuts trying to figure this out.

higher the impedance the better the sound quality usually and lower the impedance the more pwr your amp will send to it. what amp are you getting? find out what the lowest impedance it can run stable at. and choose your sub from there.
