New to the Civic family

We cut out a small spacer... it's been a while, so I don't know the sizing anymore... but it was just enough to clear and mount.

This was in a '99, but I don't think they changed anything about the interior from 99 to 00.

About running the wires from the doors...any advice on that?
Just tap into the factory wiring unless you are planning on running an active setup. Trust me, you will NOT be able to hear a difference between two feet of factory wiring versus the royal pain you will go through to run wire through the door. The passenger side has blank spots in the molex plug whereas the driver's side does not. Prepare to either pull the fenders or pull the doors to drill additional holes if you need more than one set of wires:(

Correct. 1996 to 1998 was the same and 1999 - 2000 was the same, yet slightly different than the 1996-1998 model! I like how Honda makes subtle changes throughout the life cycle of its particular generation of cars....

running wires to the doors isn't fun, but if you do it right the first time you'll never have to do it again. just go from OEM grommet to OEM grommet and cover the wire that is exposed with loom so it doesn't get messed up
