new to home audio

ok, so basically im new to all this home audio stuff. ive been doing a bunch of reading, but im still not 100% on everything.

anyway, im in college right now and im in a quad. theres 4 of us and we have a common room wed like to set up with some nice sound.

i have a friend back home who has a good amount of stuff in his attic and hes basically just sending melinks to the equipment he has. supposedly his dad got it all out of some house he was working on.

so is any of this stuff decent? would it be worth my time to take it from him and try setting it up or what?

he has speakers and stuff too, im just waiting on links/brand names from him.

That equipment is for audio distribution in multi rooms. Not really for a central listening area. If that is your goal then this gear should work well for you.

thanks. im gunna see what else he has. im pretty sure he has 2 receivers and some more speakers. im just waiting on him to dig them out.
