Hello y'all!

I am new to forums as a whole so if im posting wrong or in the wrong spot I apologize as I am still learning how this all works.

I have a Pioneer GM-D9605 5 channel amp powering 4 coaxial speakers. (Will add a 2 ohm sub down road)

Options in Ohms

  • 5-channel amplifier
  • 75 watts RMS x 4 + 350 watts RMS x 1 at 4 ohms
  • 100 watts RMS x 4 + 600 watts RMS x 1 at 2 ohms
So right now im assuming since my speakers are 4ohm im only getting 75w to each speaker if im understanding correctly?

My question is... is there a way to wire my speakers down to 2ohms? Ive done a ton of searching and almost any info is on subs and not speakers for this issue.

Any help would be very much appreciated! Happy holidays everyone!

Welcome.

You cannot trick the amplifier into producing 2 ohm power without that power going to something else.

Even if you had two 4 ohm speakers wired in parallel for a 2 ohm load, each speaker would still only get 50W at max volume (half of the 100W rating).

Even when wiring multiple subs or sub coils, each sub or coil gets a portion of the total power output.
