New to car audio, wanting to get into SPL

I am yet to here any L7's in a sealed enclosure, but as in ported they lack greatly in SQ. The one benefit as we all know for spl in the L7's is the cone area making them sound slightly bigger than there size . What ever it may be.....

go for the 12 inch JL W1V2. You won't be dissapointed. I used to have one 12 inch JLW1V2 and loved it. I just recently sold the W1V2 and bought 2 12 inch JL W3V3's. Couldn't be happier.

If you want to win competitions you need money. Shit adds up fast. Subs, amps, electrical upgrades. Hell I have like $200 in wire and fuses and shit. All that shit adds up.

I agree that two 10" L7s would sound awesome. But if your really wanting high SPL numbers, I would go with either two 15" L7s or 4 12" L7 ported.

I have seen four of them in a car like yours, box took up the whole trunk. But it was LOUD.

I have been doing some research about the whole SPL speaker thing.. and found that Pioneer 'Premiers' seem to be better than L7's. So I might go with the premier SPL subs.. at 8000watts a peice its not bad.

i've heard a bunch of different kicker l7's and l5's and while i was always impressed with how loud they could get, for day to day listening to music i wouldn't be able to put up with them, they lack in the sq area alot in my opinion.

you could do better than a JL w1 for SPL if your serious about it. L7's are a good choice though for SPL.

are you talking about the 3004 spls? that sub is more comparable to an alpine type r, speaking of which 2 15" type r's off of 2000 watts would wang. i still say go l7's
