new system. so frustrating!

well i just hooked up my new system this morning and its not playing as loud as it should be. my brothers 200 watt system kills this

list of what im running

mtx ta81001 @1ohm

2 12" type r's

4.5 cubes @ 30hz

any ideas why this isnt working right. if i didnt give enough info just tell me what you need to know

i set my gain with a dmm to 31.?? volts and the eq boost is all the way down

polarity? are you saying switch the + and - around. will that damage anything?

sub level on hu?? does the hu have a separate output?

No if one of the subs polarity doesnt match the other subs polarity, they are not going to be loud, and sound like ***.

It wont hurt the subs or amp, just play with the polarity to both the subs are the same, and see if you get a greater output.

well il pull it apart tomorrow and check that or later today if i feel ambitious and on the h/u do you mean the bass setting or the non fader-out. btw i have an eclipse cd4000

personally ive never felt a system this powerful, but what should i expect if its working right. will my mirrors shake, trunk rattling. its in a 92 camry with no deadening

Polarity issue might be the problem. I hooked up the wrong leads once and the output was minimal. Check your wiring when you get the chance.

that was definitely the problem. cant believe i didnt see it but w/e. this shit definitely hits hard. thanks for all the help and i can finally enjoy all my hard work
