plamsa will burn out

Not really. I dont really want to go into it, just trust me. As long as you dont keep a constant image on the screen both the LCD and Plasma will have ~15 life. The projection tvs will have to have the bulbs replaced every 4-5 years. They are ~$100-$400 depending on the model.

My opinion is Samsung and LG > mitsu

After a friend went looking for TVs and I was pretty clueless, I went and started talking to the manufactures about them. I also spent a week out at our high end entertainment store in Frisco. I found that I really like the pioneer elite, samsung, and LG over all others. My opinion is also LCD>Plasma>projection of any type.

Go for the TV, since you already have a decent system. I would do LCD over Plasma. I have had these with in one month (50"Rear projection,40" LCD, 42"PLasma) and the LCD was the best out of all of them. Was nice using that circut city "well if you dont like it, return it in 30 days" program. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I like Samsung, but our buyers never send us any of their higher-end models, we always get the budget models in, and they're not very impressive.

so are you guys saying get the LCD over the plasma?

also do i want to get one with a high resolution ratio and high contrast ratio??? whats the diff? would it be better to get one with higher resolution ratio then contrast ratio?
