New System Install

Well, I am going to have my system installed in my 2005 Toyota 4Runner on Monday:

Diamond Audio D9 Separates

Diamond Audio D661i Coax (for the rear)

JL Audio 300/2 (D9 mids)

JL Audio 300/4 (D9 highs and D661i's)

JL Audio 500/1

JL Audio Stealthbox

LOTS of Dynamat Extreme, Cascade Deflex Pads, and custom install on the speakers...

What do you think?

I already had the amps from my previous car.

The place I bought the speakers from is charging me (speakers, custom amp installation, and dynamat included) $1700 for all parts and labor.

I was told that the from doors will be sprayed (on the inside wall) with cascade sound deadener, the deflex pads installed, dyanamat extreme installed, and a custom MDF baffle, also deadened with carpet, and then the D9's will be mounted accordingly in the front dors and the D661i's in the rear doors. The rear doors ajust getting the deflex and dynamat treatment.

He is also dynamating my whole cargo area, installing my 2 mid/high's amps into the rear hatch, and running all wires through stock locations, and adding a higher pressure strut to lift the hatch when opened.

He is then going to install my JL 500/1 behind the body panel where my stealthbox is going.

He is also going to run my bass controll nob, and RCA's up to the front so I can add my Eclips AVN6600 Navigation deck as soon as it comes out.

LOL. I sure hope I like it. I am throwing down quite a few $$$ for this.

The only thing I am concerned with maybe the stealthbox. I am contemplating changing out the woofer for a Diamond D6, but I do not know if there will be any diferrence with the 500/1 amp...

Thanks guys. I will post my reviews on Wednesday. Also, I am hooking it up to my factory deck. What Line level converter would you recommend?

Usually the stealth boxes are too short for deep subs like a D6,I can garentee you if you have a plastic JL box,MDF sounds better over the plastic...So maybe just have a new enclosure made for the D6 but

I also like more power to a D6sub than a 500w amp, they easily handle 800-900watts as I feed my M6 that much,M6s which does fit in a stealthbox but are discountinued ...They are about an inch shorter and sound pretty much the same IMO.

overall sounds like a good system, those D9 comps should kick ***,but the coax's IMO wont do you any good unless you have alot of rear passengers

you dont put other subs in a stealth box.. also there is no sound difference in sound over a wood box.

I wanna see your equipment!!! Can't want for install pics either. I bet it'll sound awesome.
Ok, Well, I will have to see if I can get the installer to take pics of the actual "install" itself. I too would love to see the process!

The installer said that he would take pics of the install itself, but I am starting to wonder if he will or not. He is one of those guys that once he gets going on something, he just doesn't stop. I am going to try to stop by the shop today so we will see where he is in the install process.
